Brain Development in Children

The human brain is a remarkable organ. It controls all of our bodily processes, including basic functions (like breathing and digestion), automatic processes (reflexes), and conscious processes (including thinking, language, memory, movements, and coordination). This course introduces you to the basic parts and developmental processes in the human brain, as well as conditions that young brains need to develop to their full potential.

During this course, you will discover:

  • Basic parts of the brain, including the cerebral cortex, neuron, and synaptic connection
  • Facts about young children’s brains
  • The role of consistency, stress, and health, in early brain development
